SCAM- Don't Buy

I bought two of these type study guides for a couple courses I am taking. Both were a complete waste of money. This 'study guide' could have been written in an afternoon and published by someone who has no familiarity at all with the subject, or the text itself.
The bulk of the book is comprised by two components:
1.
A list of definitions at the start of each chapter, most of which are used repetitively. The same definitions consistently reappear each chapter (which itself would not be a big deal, except that there is so little substance to this text, that what little it does have, is even more meaningless when its just copy & pastes of the same content). Given the cumulative understanding involved in making sense of statistics, one would think that each definition would be tailored to each chapter, or provide increasingly involved explanations, but instead, every reiterated term is explained with a verbatim definition.
...And the original text comes with a glossary already.
2.
Each chapter also has a list of 'Practice Questions'. The practice quiz is a list of 5 multiple choice questions, which involves nothing more than term recognition (choose the right word from four options to fill in the blank). There is no application or calculations necessary. It's simply recall of a few of the terms, requiring only a very superficial familiarity with the chapter concepts. This is not at all helpful as a comprehension aid for genuinely understanding the material. It is the difference between being able to explain the precipitating events that led to World War II, and being able to identify which World War happened after the first one.
But if you wanted more such practice questions, each chapter is also linked to a website where you can complete an online quiz. In order to do so though, you will be required to pay them another dollar. The book has already been purchased, and there are only 5 sample questions per chapter, and the questions themselves are just rearranged definitions of terms from the chapter, definitions which are not only repeated throughout the study guide, but are also just as easily read in the textbook itself. But if someone wanted more of that, and less money, this facts101 e-guide has streamlined the process.
- And just to top off the professional presentation, the 5 practice questions at the end of each chapter also include an answer key. Note though that the questions are listed 1-5, while the corresponding answer key is listed as 0-4.
Unfortunately I bought this for two texts. The other guide was not for a statistical textbook, but the format of the guide was exactly the same. I would most definitely not recommend this e-book, and from my experience with another of their e-guides, I would feel confident in saying that none of the guides from this series is recommendable.
