and the art is a wonderful dark fantasy

it's an art book, so there is no plot. that being said, the quotes from Beksinski are very cryptic, and the art is a wonderful dark fantasy, full of the grotesque and the macabre. i would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Lovecraft or H.R. Giger

An insightful look into the world of a great artist

When I first saw some of Beksinski's pieces online, I was immediately drawn to his dark imagery, and the usage of large spaces in developing a sense of grandeur. This book offers some of his most memorable pieces in a tangible form. The pictures of the art work seem crisp, and the colors are represented well. There are various quotes from Beksinski distributed throughout the book to offer the reader a touch of the artist's personality.
My only gripe is that the book does not include more of his work. There is so much more shown on dedicated web sites than in the book, so I was disappointed to see that the book was somewhat thin. I also feel like the book does not delve deep enough into the interesting life (and tragic death) of Beksinski.
For the price, it is a worthwhile purchase to add to somebody's collection.

Very , Very Nice

This is a great collection of an undescribable artists' works . Granted there were some pieces of his that weren t included , but alas - you can only fit so much into one volume . Besides , when you re an eccentric fan , you will seek out obscure works and will not likely find them afterwards . Regardless of such things , I recomend this collection to every fan of fantastic artwork . Personally , before discovering Mr. Beksinski's works I was more interested in pieces by Daniel Ouellette , and H.R. Giger . Both of which are great artists , but their work was still missing something , and I found that something through Zdzislaw Beksinski's work . I hope you will be able to as well .
