About the Author
Margaret A. Burkhardt is Associate Professor Emerita, West Virginia University School of Nursing. She taught nursing and practiced holistic nursing care for more than thirty years, and is an active member of the American Holistic Nurses Association. A prolific writer, Dr. Burkhardt has published numerous articles and book chapters, as well as co-authoring two books on spirituality in health and ethics in nursing.

Alvita Nathaniel is an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Track at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University School of Nursing. In addition to teaching, she has worked as a family nurse practitioner in free clinics and juvenile detention facilities for more than two decades. An active participant in policy-making, Dr. Nathaniel's articles regularly appear in journals and other health care-related publications.

Cassie M. Shiels was born in Idaho, but moved around the Pacific Northwest while growing up. She has always enjoyed books and was one to be found, reading late into the night, on the school bus or before she did her homework. Fun Princess Story

I just have to say that right from the beginning, I was intrigued because I love a good princess story, especially when she is a strong and capable woman. Of course, it doesn't hurt that we share the same name. Speaking of names, there are two other characters in this story who share names with my kids!

Katie is a princess by birth, but is trained to be a spy and she's really good at what she does. Being a spy would give me a panic attack, but not this Katie! Her father sends her on a mysterious mission, where her cover is to be who she really is--a princess. This is hard for her because she doesn't really know how to act, but following her instincts proves to be the key to success. She is so honest and down-to-earth. I love the way she worms her way right into every aspect of the situation, including her relationship with the king. I really enjoyed the humor, adventure, and of course, the romance.

There are many great characters and situations in this book. The mystery is a fun element that really brings out strong personality traits and is cleverly done. However, there are a few instances when I would have liked more information or more emotion to be played out. I like to be involved in getting from Point A to Point B and not just told what happened. There are some typos, but the story is engaging enough that they're only a minor nuisance.

This is a fun read for almost all ages, as it is clean and entertaining, without the smut and gore.

Content: very mild romance; mild violence (no gore); nothing else of note.

It was a good book, but I felt that the romance was rushed. Katie and Jarin hardly ever met each other or talked to each other they just ran into each other, and then the were like I love you. Then, there was the small thing about how *SPOILER* the Queen wanted to kill her own son. You don't do that. No mother would willingly want to kill their child, even if they hated their husband. And the whole arranged marriage affair? She didn't have to have an arranged marriage, she could have easily ran away to marry David.

But other than that, it was a good book. It was really suspenseful, and had that sort of mystery element to it.

Clever mystery and full of adventure

This book is very fun. Written to a young adult audience, but enjoyable to all. The romance is very good and doesn't feel forced, rather like two people actually falling in love over time. The humor is well placed and gives the book several lighthearted moments without dulling the mystery or action at all. I highly recommend this book. The author spent a lot of time perfecting it and it turned out beautiful.

Design Drawing a good beginning

As a beginning architecture student I found the book to be most helpful. It contains excellent illustations on shading and shadow techniques, and on developing architectural perspectives. The CD-rom version is especially helpful in explaining some of the basic concepts. I would highly recomend this book to those interested in design architecture.

This book was recommended to me by an architect teacher of mine. After reading through it and browsing through the cd-rom that comes with it....I am very pleased that I got it. It contains all of the basics that you will need for drawing(perspective, isometric drawings, art terms).

it wouldn't be too much to say that this is one of the best books written for this purpose. the smooth transition from chapter to another and the gradual develpoment of skills and concepts makes reading through the book both exciting and benefitial. specially the chapters regarding perspective drawing. it gives u all the points and nearly every thing u might bump into. For those seeking to improve their drawing skills, this is ONE book u cannot miss.

Personajes planos, gran manejo del idioma

Carlos Fuentes, es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de los grandes de la literature hispana. Su manejo del idioma es c�modo, preciso, muy mexicano y muy elegante, el manejo del maestro que conoce, domina, y manda con temple, igualito que Manolo Mart�nez cuando le sal�a la corrida. Su personalidad es tan fuerte, que quema el papel y escurre en la tinta. Es por eso que este libro me decepcion� tanto. Tanta personalidad, tanta fuerza, y tanta maestr�a para contar una historia tan peque�a, tan ro�oza y tan pentonta. Qu� el gran genio literario se enamore de una mujer, (MUJER) qu� deje todo por seguirla, qu� pierda su gran amor, puede ser el gran tema. Pero el "gran intelectual" en la historia que nos da Fuentes es un hombre a medias, que no resuelve nada. Su Diana no es nadie, no es nada, es Coca Cola dilu�da, una "starlet" ("wannabe" como dicen los americanos) hueca y sin perfil, cuyo �nicos m�ritos parecen ser el de usar pomadas de sabores en lugares no mencionables en sociedad de damas potosinas y el de ser v�ctima ingenua de jugadas de la CIA m�s viejas y gastadas que mi Volvo. Por favor, o c�mo dir�a Diana, pleeease..... es mucho pujar para salir con un chicharito.... Qu� desperdicio de talento, se�ores. Y sin embargo puedo decir que prefiero leer un mal libro en buen espa�ol a un buen libro mal escrito.

The sixth edition has six new chapters on important topics related to improving missile guidance system performance and understanding key design concepts and tradeoffs. In addition, at the request of many readers, all of the FORTRAN source code that originally appeared in the first five editions of the text has been converted to MATLAB. However, as before, interested readers can obtain all of the texts MATLAB and equivalent FORTRAN versions of the MATLAB source code in electronic form from the AIAA website mentioned at the back of this text. The first new Chapter presents two new applications of the method of adjoints for mixed continuous-discrete systems. The first application involves multiple samplers with each of the samplers operating at a different sampling rate. The second application involves taking the adjoint of a three-state discrete Kalman filter in the homing loop. The second new Chapter introduces a new guidance law that can be used to shape the interceptor trajectory against a stationary target. The unique advantage of this new guidance approach over existing guidance laws is that time to go information is not required. The second part of the new Chapter considers both the problem of finding the minimum achievable miss distance of a radar homing missile and exploring practical techniques that can be used to achieve the minimum possible miss. The third new Chapter introduces the differential game guidance law with bounded controls and demonstrates its performance improvements over conventional guidance laws under challenging conditions in which the missile to target acceleration advantage is very low. The fourth new Chapter introduces techniques for graphically presenting strategic information on successful intercepts of an impulsive ballistic target being pursued by an impulsive interceptor. The three graphical techniques discussed are the operational area method, the launch area denied method and the defended area method. Examples are presented illustrating the utility of each of three methods of presentation. The fifth new Chapter examines two filtering options for the boost phase intercept of a strategic target. The two filters compared are a template-based Kalman filter that has perfect a priori information and a linear three-state polynomial Kalman filter that does not require such information. The filters are compared under both ideal and realistic conditions. The results of this Chapter may surprise some readers. Finally, the sixth new Chapter addresses some of the guidance and control issues involved in enabling an air-launched interceptor carrying a highly maneuverable kinetic kill vehicle to perform an exoatmospheric intercept of a boosting threat target that is capable of traveling many thousands of kilometers. This new Chapter takes the reader through the first iteration of the multi-iteration design process in order to show how much divert and acceleration may be required by the kinetic kill vehicle so that it can hit the target. Simplified examples are presented to indicate how conventional guidance and filtering techniques can be used as a starting point in the iterative design process for this important problem in missile defense.
