I was a little disappointed to not learn what the addition to the family ...

Jamie and Erica have climbed alot of really rocky hills, but somehow they've topped them all in a smokin' hot way.
Handle with Care gives us a look at Jamie and Erica's life after they decided that their relationship was worth fighting for.
Juggling jobs, a house, a 4 year old little girl, an impending addition to the family and keeping things hot in the bedroom are just a few of the problems that the couple deal with.
Not only is Handle With Care a smoking hot romance, it's also a lesson in how open, honest feelings and thoughts should be shared.
I was a little disappointed to not learn what the addition to the family is, but I'm sure Kristine will let us know in her own time.

Getting stronger

In reading this story, it struck me that in building so much of their relationship on what happened in the bedroom, Jamie and Erika forgot to remember to also work on building that same trust and faith in their relationship *outside* the bedroom. That's sort of what this book focused on, though, and it was nice to see them take those steps toward complete honesty and sharing. It was great to see more of what was started in Aftershocks and Under His Command, and I love that despite the possible setback they faced, Jamie and Erika are still going strong -- and they'll only get stronger.

Another wonderful story....

I liked the story a lot. I enjoyed reading the update on the characters and their relationship. Even the intertwining of the BDSM was done very well. But I can tell I'd never make it as a Sub....the sticking point: the discipline spanking. The first time I got the necessity; fire play is a serious thing even if it is supposed to be sexy/fun. But by the end of the story when the author mentions the hero made mistakes......hmmm shouldn't he get his butt spanked for screwing up and lose privileges too? But despite that, the story was well written and edited.

Rich source for quick reference as well as quick revision !

I bought this book mainly as a quick revision aid. Wasn't sure how helpful it would be but am pleasantly surprised how well written and well presented this book is. Extensive coverage of nealy ALL emergency presentations and conditions .I think it has been written mainly for " on the floor " referencing but its unique , comprehensive style of presentation and content is equally well suited for a quick revision if you are preparing for an exam, especially ones that have VAQs and SAQs like the ACEM Fellowship( Australian/NZ) .Wont help much with MCQs. You need to have a diagnosis already made though but it will give everything else you need to know right from pre hospital to final disposition stage. Highly recommended. Ideal for the last minute revisions !

Nice reference we have in the ER - this is what it was purchased for. When I first started in ER - used this book like crazy now its there as a reference to look up things we may forget. Solid reference text for a busy ER - Also have Tinatanalli as well in the ER .

Harriet Lerner, Ph.D., is one of our nation’s most loved and respected relationship experts. Great, excellent

I highly recommend this to anyone in a struggling relationship. After 10 years of marriage I could see no way of getting along with my wife. My therapist suggested this book and it just opened up a whole new world for me. My marriage is safe and strong. Don't let the title fool you, this is just as much for men as women, yes I am a guy.....

Hopeless

This book started to upset me not at first. I was like yes, now i can see why a therapist recommended it to me. Wished i could of asked her why this book cause after reading into the book further the feeling of being depressed and hopeless started to come on. I kept trying to read on thinking it's gonna get better sadly it did not. Maybe, It is just I who felt this way but she writes to the upper class family. Leaving me where I had to put the book down and walk away feeling so insulted and in tears. In the book she mentions if we stay cut off from our roots than there is no hope it help what so ever that will be able to help a person. Well that is at least how I took her in this book. I under stood where she said we need to know our family history. An yes I can see how that can be very helpful but not all of us have that luxury there was no insight as what to do if you do not have that access to family history or connection to your family and their are very valid reasons as to why people have no or want or need no access to family anything! This book left me feeling just hopeless. The author seems to forget about all women. Her example of women in her book I could not relate to at all as a female. In the end the book made me feel completely hopeless

A book that teaches how to cope with anger without angering the reader.

I bought this book in response to temper tantrums that seemed to come out of the blue from a close family member. I hope he reads the book & profits as much as I have from it. (The most important thing I've learned about the tantrums is to keep my hands off. They are his problem, not mine, while I have plenty of problems of my own to address related to his tantrums.) I think this book applies to men, with rare exceptions, as much as to women. It is a tough read, despite at first seemingly composed of one simple story after another. Only after the stories have come together as the foundation for what follows is the reader introduced to the underlying conceptual framework that makes the stories part of one, large picture. Understanding the whole picture is very, very difficult. The author notes that many (of whom I am one) must turn around and re-read the book in order to "get it." Yet still more is required. The reader must practice the book's lessons over and over (perhaps for years) in order to achieve maximum results. This is one tough set of lessons, but definitely worthwhile. My only complaint is that I do not think triangle theory is adequately explained.

Review of I Am Darius

I gave it four stars because it is too soon to know its full value. It deals with the religious experiences of the author and makes several predictions of future events. Until we see the validity of the predictions its full value will be unknown. It is very interesting and spiritually uplifting, but introduces many things that surprised me. It is too soon to know if they also enlightened me.

About the Author
Matthias Rudolph is a senior scientist at the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut f�r H�chstfrequenztechnik (FBH) in Berlin, Germany, where he is responsible for the characterization and modeling of FETs and HBTs for circuit design, and for the design of MMICs. He has written 13 journal articles and 29 conference papers on topics in the field. He received his Dr.-Ing in electrical engineering from the Darmstadt University of Technology.

This may be the best book that you can find about HBT modeling in the world market.

I met author of this book in Atlanta, Georgia at IMS2008. I ask him about 2 or 3 questions in this conference. I found that Dr. Matthias is answer my question very interestingly. But I am not sure this book talked about de-embedding or not. Eventhough, deembedding lost physical phenomena description in this device. But it is very important for circuit designer to use large signal or small signal equivalent circuit to design amplifier, filter and oscillator. etc. I confess that I have many book to read for fun but if I have research job I will spend more time on this book.

Doesn't cover SiGe HBTs

I bought this book hoping to learn more about modeling SiGe HBTs, but then in the very first few pages the author states that the book applies to InP and GaAs (III-V), not SiGe. I guess I should have known that SiGe HBTs didn't really count as HBTs, since the title "Introduction to modeling HBTs" certainly doesn't include SiGe HBTs. Anyways, it's of little value to me until I get to work with InP or GaAs HBTs.

Harlan Ellison has been called “one of the great living American short story writers” by the Washington Post. In a career spanning more than fifty years, he has won more awards than any other living fantasist. Ellison has written or edited one hundred fourteen books; more than seventeen hundred stories, essays, articles, and newspaper columns; two dozen teleplays; and a dozen motion pictures. He has won the Hugo Award eight and a half times (shared once); the Nebula Award three times; the Bram Stoker Award, presented by the Horror Writers Association, five times (including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996); the Edgar Award of the Mystery Writers of America twice; the Georges Melies Fantasy Film Award twice; and two Audie Awards (for the best in audio recordings); and he was awarded the Silver Pen for Journalism by PEN, the international writers’ union. He was presented with the first Living Legend Award by the International Horror Critics at the 1995 World Horror Convention. Ellison is the only author in Hollywood ever to win the Writers Guild of America award for Outstanding Teleplay (solo work) four times, most recently for “Paladin of the Lost Hour,” his Twilight Zone episode that was Danny Kaye’s final role, in 1987. In 2006, Ellison was awarded the prestigious title of Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. The beginning of the Ellison we've come to know

Ellison broke into print back in 1956, and in the ten years that followed, he wrote an extraordinary number of short stories. Yet prolific as he was from the beginning, he didn't start to hit the level of quality we associate with his mature work until the late '50s. Even then, a number of his stories in speculative fiction would contain scenes, images, and ideas that no one else could handle in those days, only to be marred somewhat by immaturity. This shows up in a lot of the pulp-sf appurtenances that he loaded the earlier stories with in this book. Stories like "The Discarded" and to a lesser extent, "Deeper Than the Darkness" touch places in the psyche that evoke genuine pain--then jar us with risible notions of mutants and somewhat puerile descriptions intended to horrify and shock.

Later stories in this book, such as "Bright Eyes" (1964) and "Repent, Harlequin!..." (1965) are more accomplished and controlled in this regard. I can still read them with considerable pleasure. "Deeper Than the Darkness" has a lot that can be said for it, too, but one must look past some of the pulp-sf crudities that I alluded to above.

The title story, "Paingod," is an interesting attempt that I don't think comes off entirely. A pretty good read, nevertheless.

So you get the picture: the book is a mixed bag, but an interesting one. The stories are often moving, because Ellison felt strongly about the issues embodied, and communicated it effectively. And the book is historically interesting, because it points the way to his later fiction.

Is the book up to the level of quality to be found in his later books, such as _Shatterday_ or _Angry Candy_? No, but that doesn't make it bad. If memory serves, Ellison was 31 when _Paingod_ appeared. The late Theodore Sturgeon wrote an appreciative review at the time where he recognized Ellison's promise on the basis of this book. Neither Sturgeon's probity nor his perspicacity are in doubt because of it. :-)

All in all, the book is worth reading if you're an aficionado of speculative fiction. Ten years ago, I might have said that some of these stories had become dated in a bad way. The cycle of world events seems to have swung back around, and the stories seem (to use a very '60s word) _relevant_ again. :-]

A selection of great SF tales

The stories in this collection were originally published in magazines between 1956 and 1965. Unlike much SF of that era, they have not lost their edge.
In part, this is down to Ellison's literary style which was head and shoulders above the majority of SF at that time. Thus today, when editors demand better writing, these stories can still satisfy. The other reason is that Ellison has an uncanny vision of the future which does not easily get outdated by the events of a few decades.
The stories contain lots of new ideas and the author uses the flexibility of the SF format to good effect.
This highlight must of course be "Repent, Harlequin!" said the Ticktockman which tells of a world rigidly controlled with everyone forced to conduct their affairs to maximise the efficiency of society. I think that this is one of the finest SF shorts ever written and it is certainly the best known of all the stories here.
Having praised that story, I should say that, with the exception of the final tale, "Deeper than the Darkness", I really liked everything here. They range from the sorrowful "Bright Eyes" to the wryly funny story "The Crackpots".

It can truly be said that Ellison is a writer like no other!

Ellison, for the most part, has been out of print for the past twenty years, and that, in my opinion, is a bad thing. A very bad thing! During the 60s and 70s, he was not only the best writer of the New Wave of science-fiction, he was also the most original short story writer around. It can be said that he wrote like no one else. His style is vigorous, compelling and lucid. No one else can hold a candle to him. A prolific writer, he wrote something like 700 stories, starting from the 50s and continuing through to the early 80s. The stories in this collection are from the 60s, and what a wonderful collection it is too.
'"Repent, Harlequin" said the Tick Tock Man' is a story every bit as good as it's title - and I think that the title is a real peach. In about 3000 words he describes a dystopia where society is ruthlessly regimented by the clock. If you are five minutes late for an appointment, you lose five minutes off your life. The Tick Tock Man (or the Master Timekeeper, to call him by his official title) rules with a ruthless efficiency, and relentlessly tracks down the Harlequin, the ultimate non-conformist who refuses to be on time and who ingeniously disrupts the smooth running of this soulless society. If you have read 1984, you will know what happens- but there is a lovely twist at the end, which I won't spoil by giving away. The story may sound daft but it works and works beautifully. His imagination is unique. His aim is true. In Paingod, another classic, he tries to explain why there is so much pain in the world and why it is so necessary. There are other glories here: 'The Discarded', 'The Crackpots' and 'Deeper Than Darkness.' All worth your perusal. Each story is preceded by a short introduction that is as readable, entertaining and lively as the stories.
Ellison is a wonderful writer who doesn't deserve the neglect that has befallen him. Buy this book and maybe -yes, just maybe! - it will encourage some enterprising publisher to reprint such essential collections as Strange Wine, Deathbird Stories, Alone Against Tomorrow, and Approaching Oblivion. Why Ellison isn't one of the most popular men of American letters utterly baffles me. He is as good as the best and better than most.

Tried teaching myself math...

This textbook, unfortunately, is not for teaching yourself business math. Found that out the expensive way. I buy a lot of textbooks to read and learn from, but this is definitely a book that required a teacher or tutor. The concepts aren't difficult, but it's written to be more as a tool rather than a complete resource. Only buy it if you are going to take a business math class and this is the book your using.

definitely a book that is needed more in schools

I was a math teacher in New Orleans. While teaching many kids from different backgrounds. I recognized one thing, that many of the students had not an overall use of math or interest in that matter; however when I applied monetary value to the math I would teach with real life stories from the book it caught alot of attention. While reading the book the examples in the book from the different industries as well as the application of different principals of math and how they are utilized is important to many students that I teach and even myself; allowing the connection between book and real life. ...Con: some of the material needs a better index in locating material and principles in the book. It also needs more breakdowns for the formulas, it seemed very spread out. I would love to see another edition that has formulas that are correlated or commonly used together in the literature, and index. The book is awesome and needed so I would love to see more editions and would use more. It is set-up as though a parent would go through basic concepts and ideas in finance for ones children or a teacher with students. More advanced Statistics may need to look else where but as for basic Stats it does its job in this and other sections of Finance/ math concepts.

Misleading Amazon Listing and Reviews

The book itself is fine, and was in decent condition when I received it. Unfortunately, what I did not realize because it was not made clear anywhere on the Amazon listing is that this is NOT the complete version. It only goes to chapter 13, and as I am using this for a class, I now either have to purchase a new book, or hope to God that I can get a decent grade on the last test based only on the powerpoint slides provided by the publishers website. Not thrilled with this turn of events. It needs to be made much clearer in the listing that this is NOT the full version.
